There are four mattress positions so you can easily lower the crib as the baby grows. It uses a standard crib mattress (not included). Discontinue use of crib and convert to a transitional bed when the child reaches the height of 35 inches or becomes too active and is able to climb out.The transitional bed is designed for children who have outgrown their crib but still need some security at bedtime. Safety bedrails are included to help prevent children from falling out of bed. The transitional bed uses a standard crib mattress set at the lowest position. The next stage is the child's daybed. For this stage in your child's development you simply raise the mattress and remove the safety bedrails. Lastly remove all panels except the back to create a headboard for a full-size bed. The changing table is detached at this point and now serves as a convenient nightstand.Use household soap with warm water to clean this product. Towel-dry.
